Meet Your Team
Scott Otis
Founder & CEO
Scott Otis is the Founder and CEO of Zeal Property Management, a full service property management firm headquartered in Lafayette, Colorado. Under his leadership, Zeal manages approximately 260 single family and small multifamily properties across Boulder County and the Denver Front Range, and operates Redrock Property Maintenance, the firm's in house maintenance division.
Otis began his real estate career in 2010 in Ames, Iowa while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Iowa State University. Over more than 15 years in the industry, he has closed hundreds of sales transactions and built deep operating experience across single family, multifamily, mixed use, and student housing assets. He also founded and operated Basecamp Coworking in Lafayette, a community focused coworking space he ran until its sale in late 2025.
Zeal is built around relationships first. Otis has intentionally kept the firm boutique, where clients get direct access to decision makers rather than a ticket queue, and long term partnership is valued over growth at any cost. Behind that personal service is serious infrastructure: Zeal has invested heavily in its own custom built AI and agentic software, developed in house to make the property management team more effective and more responsive, which translates directly into greater profitability and stability for clients.
A licensed Colorado Managing Broker, Otis is known for navigating the most complex situations in property management with composure and precision, from Colorado's rapidly evolving landlord tenant law to high stakes portfolio transitions. He is an active member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers at both the Colorado and national levels, the Colorado Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
Otis resides in Erie with his wife, Jenny, their three daughters, and their newborn son.
Nelsi Cordonero
Resident Experience Coordinator
Nelsi Cordonero is often the first voice residents hear from Zeal, and that's by design. As Resident Experience Coordinator, she keeps communication flowing between residents and the Zeal team, handling move-ins, lease renewals, maintenance updates, lease documents, and resident questions of every kind. If something is happening at a property that a resident needs to know about, chances are Nelsi is the one reaching out.
Her background in communication, organization, and customer service made property management a natural fit, a role where she gets to solve problems and learn something new every day. Since joining Zeal in March 2025, she has built a reputation for the things that matter most in this business: responding quickly, being honest, and following through on what she says she'll do. Her favorite part of the job is turning stressful situations into positive experiences, making sure residents feel heard, informed, and supported while the team works toward a solution.
Originally from Nicaragua, Nelsi works remotely as part of the Zeal team. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and cooking, especially homemade pasta from scratch. She's also a serious puzzle enthusiast: her biggest build was a 5,000 piece puzzle of the Sistine Chapel, a place she's had the privilege of visiting in person twice.
Gavin Leach
Leasing Consultant
Gavin Leach is the first point of contact for many future Zeal residents. As Leasing Consultant, he handles leads, guest cards, and inquiries, schedules and runs showings, and guides prospects through follow-up and application questions from first contact to signed lease.
Real estate runs in the family. Gavin grew up around realtors, investors, and brokers, and put that upbringing to work early, acquiring his first investment property in 2023. That investor's perspective shapes how he approaches leasing: he understands what's at stake for owners, not just what a listing looks like. Since joining Zeal, he has built a reputation for pushing deals across the finish line, including one stretch where he leased three tough properties in a single day after multiple showings and applications had fallen through.
Ask Gavin what makes Zeal different and he'll point to effort: a team that works weekends, before opening, and after close when that's what it takes to get things handled for residents, prospects, and owners.
Born and raised in Lafayette, Gavin is a true local with family up the road in Berthoud. Outside of work, you'll find him at the lake fishing and surfing behind the boat, watching whatever sports are on, or grabbing a meal at The Waterloo in downtown Louisville, ideally with his dog Winndixie nearby.
Isaiah Mayfield
Business Development Manager
Isaiah Mayfield is often the first person a property owner meets at Zeal, and his job is simple to describe: build trust and deliver results. As Business Development Manager, he works with owners considering professional management, helping them understand what Zeal does and whether it's the right fit for their property.
His path into real estate started in an unlikely place: the gym. As a personal trainer, Isaiah built relationships with clients who happened to be real estate agents, and those relationships led him into commercial real estate in 2019. A licensed Real Estate Broker, he brings that experience to every owner conversation, along with a personal standard that fits Zeal's culture. Early in his career, he faced a situation with two options: do the right thing and accept real risk, or take the easy way and hope nobody noticed. He chose the right thing, and it shaped how he operates to this day. His take on what makes Zeal different comes down to exactly that: people and character, a company built on doing the right thing even when it's hard, where every internal conversation keeps owners' and residents' best interests at the forefront.
Born in Indiana and raised in Texas, Isaiah came to Colorado to attend CU Boulder and never left. In the winter, he's chasing snowboard days in the mountains (and spending more time in I-70 traffic than on the snow, by his own admission). The rest of the year, it's a good workout and some sun. And for a sandwich, it's only and always Snarf's.
